A tasteful, meaningful work involving the use of shinogi, a traditional ceramic art technique in Japan.   

“Shinogi” refers to ridgeline pattern decorations created by means of shaving base material foundation through the use of implements such as spatulas and plane tools. 

Applying glaze to the three-dimensionally carved out ridgeline areas produces colors both light and shady, and this in turn creates a unique and profound expression in the finished product.
