”Kamacco” is a type of “donabe,” an earthenware pot (approximately) 18 cm in diameter and 16.5 cm in height which can boil 12.2 ounces of white rice at a time.

This type of pot has a two-tier configuration consisting of an inner and outer lid, and its inner lid can perform measurement for 12.2 ounces of rice and water.  Customers can even use kamacco for cooking takikomi gohan (Japanese rice dish seasoned with dashi, soy sauce and a variety of meats and vegetables).

Rice made with donabe is capable of bringing out both the sweetness and the boiled plumpness of rice
